Ferret Found.

May 22nd, 2008

ferret1.jpgOk, here is this weeks random story. My friend Amy was giving me a ride home last night. We came to the intersection of 33rd and Webster in NE and we saw this mini van slowly following what appeared to be a rat. On closer look it was a ferret. The dude in the car jumped out and got the little bugger as we sat there and watched. In true Oregonian fashion, Holmes starts walking over to us with the ferret. He explains that he can’t take him because he has two huge dogs in his car.

After much deliberation, we go get a box at the market and take him with us. I live next to an animal hospital and thought they could help. The folks were nice at the hospital, but did not rectify our situation with the ferret. The ferret has spent the night in my kitchen in an animal cage the neighbors had. Cute little guy, but he is still a varmint.

Hence the question is, Does any one want a rat?
I don’t.
I do have a bag though.
Sing it with me.”The varmints in the bag and the bags in the river.”

Please PLEASE don’t kill the little varmint! Ferrets are as smart as rats, which by the way is extremely intelligent. Call the Humane Society over on NE Columbia…they will tell you what to do. Please.
