Portland Platinum?
April 30th, 2008
Portland Oregon was awarded the Platinum status by the League of American Bicyclists. According to them this makes Portland the mark of excellence for which all large cities in America should try to emulate for bicycle education, safety, infrastructure and improvements. This is a great thing for Portland, but it makes me seriously shudder that Portland is the role model of excellence. The state of affairs in all other American cities must be absolutely horrendous. Portland may give a damn about their cycling activism, but we are a long, long way from anything that could be considered reasonable for cycling anywhere. Home to the absolute worst drivers I have come across anywhere in the world, Portland is far from a state of educated drivers and cyclists. I guess it’s a cute award to make folks feel better about riding in shit weather 9 months out of the year. As far as role model status, I think not.

MGMT

Been off the rivet with the old blog here a bit. Had to send the camera to get repaired and won’t get it back for a bit. Hence the YouTube injections. Saw these guys at Doug Fir last night. The video here is tripping me out. Put down the Cheetos for this one.
What?no embedding the video? Loss of points for that bollocks. Still worth a look. Time to Pretend–MGMT.

Been off the blog here for a bit. Been really busy with new projects happening. Not to fear though. I am going to climb back on it right now. Last week was WK’s 26th Anniversary Founder’s day party. Here are a few good one’s from that.
There were several choices of what you could do for the day to pay back the good. I went out to the Community Cycling center and helped fix some bikes up for kids. Sean and I gutted a tight little powerlight BMX and rebuilt the whole thing.

Done.
Time to party. The following are to random to explain.
